SAN JOSE, Calif. – Earthquakes midfielder Anibal Godoy has been called up to the Panama National Team by head coach Courtney Stempel for an international friendly against Venezuela on Sept. 11. The match will be Los Canaleros’ first since the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
Godoy, 28, started all three matches for Panama at the 2018 World Cup, facing international powers Belgium, England and Tunisia. Since making his first senior team appearance in 2010, Godoy has earned 92 caps for Panama, scoring one goal and providing four assists. So far this season, Godoy has started 18 Quakes matches, providing two assists, and serving as the team captain against Houston on April 14.
