SAN JOSE, Calif. – San Jose Earthquakes midfielder Marc Pelosi underwent a successful surgery on Wednesday morning to repair chronic quadriceps tendonitis in his left knee. The surgery was performed by Dr. Tim McAdams and is expected to sideline the midfielder for four to six months.

Pelosi, 22, signed with the Earthquakes in July 2015 and made 12 appearances, including seven starts, during the 2015 season. A product of the United States Youth National Team system, Pelosi previously captained the U.S. to the Round of 16 in the 2011 U-17 FIFA World Cup in Mexico before signing with Liverpool of the English Premier League.
