SAN JOSE, Calif. – The San Jose Earthquakes, Wells Fargo, and Silicon Valley Education Foundation will be presenting 17 Santa Clara County college-bound seniors each with $1,500 scholarships to help support their STEM-focused academic careers as part of the Goals for Education program. All 17 students are the first in their family to go to college, with 16 recipients attending a four-year university despite the uncertainty of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
“The Quakes are always looking to support our local students in securing a college education,” said Earthquakes Chief Operating Officer Jared Shawlee. “With the help of Wells Fargo and the Silicon Valley Education Foundation, we’re fortunate to be able to impact the lives of our future generations in their pursuit of higher education, especially during these uncertain times.
