SAN JOSE, Calif. – The San Jose Earthquakes are set to unveil the largest drum ever to be used in professional sports, making its debut on Saturday night at the club’s season opener. The drum, along with the previous announcement of Chuy Gomez as house DJ, will further enhance the matchday experience for all fans in attendance throughout the season.
Painted black and blue, the drum is 109 inches in diameter, 46 inches wide and has a one-inch thick solid-wood shell. The single-piece drumhead was created by Remo, the world’s largest drumhead company, and features the Earthquakes crest and club’s impact pattern.
