SAN JOSE, Calif. – The San Jose Earthquakes announced today that the club will host a doubleheader against the LA Galaxy on May 27 at Avaya Stadium, with the Quakes playing at 6:45 p.m. followed by the Earthquakes Special Olympics Unified Team facing their LA Galaxy counterpart after the conclusion of the MLS match.
The Quakes Special Olympics Unified Team consists of 23 players, ages 16-25, both with and without intellectual disabilities that will compete in a first team experience. Partnering with Special Olympics Northern California, the Unified Game aims to provide athletes of all ability levels the chance to play and be part of a team while learning skills such as being a good teammate, winning with grace and encouraging others to carry positivity into their everyday lives.
