SAN JOSE, Calif. – The San Jose Earthquakes announced today that the club has signed midfielder Marc Pelosi to a new contract.
Pelosi, 22, signed with the Earthquakes on July 17, 2015 and appeared in 12 of the team’s final 16 games of the season, making seven starts. He did not make any appearances for the club in 2016 due to injury and had surgery in September to repair tendonitis in his left knee.
“We’ve always believed Marc was a high-potential player,” said Earthquakes interim general manager Chris Leitch. “At just 22 years old, we think Marc’s best days on the field are ahead of him.
