NEW YORK – Major League Soccer has issued San Jose Earthquakes head coach Matias Almeyda an additional two-game suspension (three games total) for on-field misconduct during San Jose’s match against the Los Angeles Football Club on Aug. 21. The suspension is in addition to the one-game suspension as a result of being dismissed from the game.
Almeyda also has been issued an undisclosed fine by MLS Commissioner Don Garber for his on-field misconduct while being dismissed from the game.
Almeyda served the original dismissal suspension on Aug. 24 against Vancouver Whitecaps FC. His additional game suspensions will include Aug.
