MLS stars lose to Arsenal 2-1

SAN JOSE -- A last-minute goal from Chuba Akpom sealed the 2-1 victory for Arsenal in an entertaining MLS All-Star game on Thursday at Avaya Stadium.

Akpom, who claimed MVP honors, struck the ball just past the reach of San Jose Earthquakes goalkeeper David Bingham in the 87th minute on a pass from Nacho Monreal.The first half featured exciting fast-paced action from both sides to entertain the capacity crowd of 18,000.After a couple of near-goals from Arsenal's Theo Walcott early on, Joel Campbell beat Jelle Van Damme to the ball inside the penalty area and was knocked down in the 11th minute, resulting in a penalty kick.
