SAN JOSE — The Earthquakes suffered more than a bad defeat last week in Portland.
The MLS Disciplinary Committee announced Friday that it has suspended forward Marco Urena one game for violent conduct in the 67th minute during an ugly 2-0 defeat to the Timbers. Urena, who has played a pivotal role in the Quakes’ offense this year, also was fined an undisclosed sum.
The committee also fined San Jose defender Florian Jungwirth for violating league policy regarding hands to the face, head or neck of an opponent. The German’s foul came in the 17th minute against the Timbers.
