San Jose Earthquakes goalkeeper JT Marcinkowski made two penalty tiebreak saves, Toronto FC midfielder Noble Okello leveled in second-half stoppage time, and the MLS Homegrown Team triumphed on penalties Tuesday following a 2-2 draw with the Chivas de Guadelajara U-20s in the 2019 MLS Homegrown Game presented by Energizer.
Colorado Rapids midfielder Cole Bassett converted the final penalty, as the MLS Homegrowns won the tiebreak 3-0 to take their first victory in the game since it was first contested in 2014.
Okello's leveler came 24 minutes after Sebastian Martinez gave Chivas their second lead of the contest, somewhat against the run of play, off an opportunisitc strike from close range following an unlucky deflection off Houston Dynamo Defender Erik McCue.
