“He was a pioneer that got ostracized for the wrong reason,” Wondo said. “People didn’t listen. He said the same message we’re all saying. Kneeling wasn’t enough. Not playing” for 8 minutes 46 seconds during the opening game of the MLS Is Back tournament. That wasn’t enough. It needs to be something groundbreaking, something new. This is a 50-year problem. This is the step that needs to be taken.
