I had a bit of luck with my first callup to the Panama National Team. It was 2010 and I was 18 years old. I was playing well with my club, hoping to get the call, but I didn’t make the initial roster. I remember it really well. I was sitting in my house, fuming over not making the national team. I was so mad, saying all sorts of nonsense and reflecting on what I can do better in order to get the callup when my phone rang.
Jorge Dely Valdes was on the line and he asked me if I could come to the training camp because Felipe Baloy was injured and couldn’t play in the games.
