Game on: Earthquakes and rest of MLS headed to Disney for soccer

Major League Soccer will reopen the 2020 season July 8 with a World Cup-like tournament at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida, the league announced Wednesday.

All 26 teams, including the San Jose Earthquakes, will participate in a group stage that will be played over 16 consecutive days. The championship game is scheduled for Aug. 11.

The league suspended play March 12 after each team had played two games because of the global health crisis caused by the novel coronavirus.
