Former Earthquakes goalkeeper Joe Cannon, who will be inducted into the team’s Hall of Fame this weekend, was named Monday as the next head coach of Burlingame Dragons FC.
A Premier Development League affiliate to the Quakes, Burlingame has produced a number of MLS players the past couple of years, including San Jose starting right back Nick Lima.
“I’m excited. I think it’s a massive opportunity for me to be a part of the Earthquakes’ technical side,” Cannon said in a statement. “I think it’s also a great chance to work with some of the best players in the Bay Area at that age.
