The first leg of the set concluded Thursday night at BC Place in Vancouver, where the game ended in a 1-1 draw in front of a sellout crowd of 28,017 fans.
Alex Morgan scored in the 31st minute, giving the U.S. a 1-0 lead. Lindsey Horan almost doubled the score with a free kick in the 39th minute, but it was pushed out by Canada goalkeeper Stephanie Labbé, preserving the one-goal margin in the first half.
