San Jose Earthquakes midfielder Tommy Thompson starred for Sacramento Republic FC in the club’s commanding 4-0 win against visiting Portland Timbers 2 this past Saturday at Bonney Field.
Thompson, who was named to Sacramento’s starting XI, made his impact felt early, assisting on the opening goal scored by Matt LaGrassa in the 4th minute.
In the second half, Thompson tallied the third goal of the match, dancing around the Portland goalkeeper and tapping the ball in for a 3-0 lead. In the past two games, Thompson has recorded three assists and a goal in two starts for Sacramento.
