San Jose Earthquakes defender Marcos Lopez is among six MLS players that have reported to the Peruvian Soccer Federation’s facilities to begin their fitness preparation ahead of the 2021 MLS preseason and potential call-ups for FIFA World Cup qualifiers later this year.
Lopez, along with Alexander Callens (NYCFC), Edison Flores (D.C. United), Pedro Gallese (Orlando City SC), Andy Polo (Portland Timbers), and Yordy Reyna (D.C. United) were called earlier this week. The group will continue to train in Peru until they are each asked to report back with their respective clubs.
Lopez, 20, was most recently called up to all four of Peru’s World Cup qualifying matches last year, making two appearances.
