The San Jose Earthquakes announced the signing of Argentine goalkeeper Daniel Vega on Friday afternoon. Here are five things to know about the Quakes’ newest addition…
- Vega most recently played for USL side Tampa Bay Rowdies, where he made 33 saves in 10 appearances after signing midseason.
- Vega had a career year for North American Soccer League (NASL) side Miami FC in 2017, finishing 21-5-6 between the posts and allowing a league low 28 goals in 32 games. He claimed the Golden Glove Award that season.
- Vega was with Argentina’s River Plate from 2007 to 2013, a club which current Quakes head coach Matias Almeyda has ties as a coach and player.
