On Monday, March 9, the U-16 Mexico National Team called Quakes Homegrown goalkeeper Emi Ochoa to a training camp in Mexico City. Just last week, Ochoa was in Chula Vista, Calif. for a training camp with the United States U-15 National Team.
This is an exciting time for the 14-year-old who has now received call-ups from both nations. At Ochoa’s age, he can continue to represent both countries and absorb the experiences that come with it.
“We’re very excited and proud for Emi and his family during this time,” said Earthquakes general manager Jesse Fioranelli. “To be wanted by two federations is an incredible honor so as a club, we will fully support him as he enjoys the experience with both the United States and Mexico.
