The United States Women's National Team earned a 2-1 win over Spain on Monday morning. The USWNT took the lead early on in the match with a penalty that Megan Rapinoe converted in the 7th minute. The lead did not last very long as a defensive mistake allowed Spain to equalize just two minutes later in the 9th minute. The deadlock remained for the rest of the first half and into the second half until the Spaniards committed a foul inside their box. After a lengthy VAR review, a penalty was awarded to the USWNT. Rapinoe stepped up to the spot once again and slotted the ball into the back of the net to give the U.
