The forward position for the San Jose Earthquakes was certainly in need of an upgrade and the first domino has fallen. Costa Rica National Team forward Marcos Ureña was inked to a multi-year contract, adding another proven striker to the team’s roster. Here are five things to know about the Quakes new striker:

Ureña has made 45 appearances for the Costa Rica National Team, tallying 10 goals and three assists.

He has played for teams in Costa Rica, Russia and Denmark, since making his professional debut at 17 years old.
3.
Ureña appeared in four of Costa Rica’s five matches at the 2014 FIFA World Cup, helping lead the squad to the quarterfinals against the Netherlands.
