CARSON — Neither Chris Wondolowski’s first start in three weeks, nor the absence of a world-class opponent could prevent the Earthquakes from sinking deeper into this quicksand of a season.
Romain Alessandrini scored the only goal in the Los Angeles Galaxy’s 1-0 victory Friday night in front of 23,118 at the StubHub Center.
The Quakes (2-7-3) not only have lost five of their past seven games, but they are also now winless in 10 of 11 since their season-opening victory March 3 against Minnesota United.
Wondolowski, ranked second in career scoring in Major League Soccer, came off the bench the previous three games after starting in a 1-0 loss to the Portland Timbers on May 5.
