Danville: Mustang soccer exec comes full-circle after Earthquakes

DANVILLE — John Doyle says he’s not the kind of guy who feels sorry for himself.

So, when he was fired as San Jose Earthquakes general manager in August, he absorbed the blow by staying in motion, as one might expect from a former world-class center back and Earthquakes captain.

Doyle, 50, the director of coaching and player development with Mustang Youth Soccer in Danville, has kept things humming at the Mustang Soccer Complex.

“I like being busy. I’m not good at just sitting around doing nothing,” said Doyle, a Pleasanton resident and 1990 World Cup starter.
