Earthquakes Academy players Yuna McCormack, Elise Evans and America Frias are headed to the U-15 CONCACAF Championship finals following a 3-0 win over guest-team Portugal. The United States U-15 Girls’ National Team bounced back against the side after suffering a 2-0 loss to Portugal in group play.
McCormack was the catalyst in the U-15s’ second goal, starting the counter-attack after intercepting a Portugal pass at midfield. Additionally, McCormack started and played the full 70 minutes. Evans was subbed in for U.S. captain, Maggie Taitano, during the closing minutes of the match. Frias did not feature.
McCormack, Evans, Frias and the U-15s will take on Mexico in the CONCACAF Championship finals on Monday, Aug.
