San Jose Earthquakes players Elise Evans and Andrea Kitahata have been called to the United States U-17 Women’s National Team to compete in the UEFA National Team Development Tournament in Mirandela, Portugal.
The competition will be the first of the U-17s’ new international cycle, giving Evans and Kitahata the opportunity to solidify their place in the squad. The U.S. will travel to Portugal from May 8 to May 18 to take on Mexico, Russia and the hosts.
Evans plays for the Quakes U-15 side that is currently ranked No. 1 in the nation. At the center-back position, Evans has helped the U-15s secure an outstanding 17 clean sheets in 28 USSDA matches in the 2018-19 season.
