Until the Giants/Dodgers complete an epic comeback/collapse prompting us to revisit tails of 1951, we’ll assume the Dodgers will win the National League West and play the Mets in the first round while the Cardinals play the winner of the Cubs-Pirates wild-card-off.
A few things to consider . . .
Home-field advantage: The Mets don’t want to open at Dodger Stadium, where the home team is 48-21 and Clayton Kershaw surrendered three runs in his past 49 home innings.
