Mirian Ortiz Cepeda, the wife of Giants’ Hall of Famer Orlando Cepeda, died on Wednesday morning at 62 due to complications from pneumonia, the team announced in a statement.
“Mirian was known for her vivacious spirit who brought joy to her family and to all of us who had the honor to know her,” the team’s statement said. “She will be deeply missed by the entire Giants family.”
Mirian Ortiz Cepeda, who was born in Puerto Rico and raised in the Bronx, N.Y., is survived by her husband Orlando, son Hector, stepsons Orlando Jr., Carl (Charmaine), Malcolm (Elizabeth) and Ali (Camille) along with their eight grandchildren.
