PHILADELPHIA–No team in baseball has faced more left-handed starters than the Giants, but barring any unexpected changes, the club will match up with 10 straight right-handers on its current road trip.
The Giants opened the season against a steady diet of southpaws, contending with left-handed starters in 18 of their first 31 games.
On Wednesday, Bruce Bochy’s squad will square off against its sixth right-hander in a row as Nick Pivetta will take the hill for Philadelphia.
Though the Giants began the road trip with three consecutive wins, their offense has mustered just six runs in its past three games and was shut out in a rough 11-0 loss on Monday.
