It was a scene out of bizarro world: Bruce Bochy, the greatest manager in San Francisco Giants history, happy and smiling while wearing the uniform of the team he’d beaten to bring the city its first ever World Series championship.
The weirdness of seeing Bochy in Rangers gear aside, one thing stood out above the rest after he was named manager: a team like Texas, which had leaned on less-experienced managers for years, had turned to one of baseball’s old guard to try and right their ship.
Perhaps it’s simply a matter of MLB, like all sports, being a copycat league.
