Who’s in, who’s out for Giants after 17-inning marathon

SAN FRANCISCO — Bruce Bochy arrived early to begin sorting out the process of figuring out a lineup and the bullpen Saturday several hours after completing a 3-2, 17-inning win over the Cincinnati Reds.

Here’s what he determined:

— Catcher Buster Posey is out after catching 17 innings. Back in 2001 when the Giants played 18 innings against the Arizona Diamondbacks, Benito Santiago caught every inning and also 12 innings the next day.

No matter. Nick Hundley, the lone position player to sit out the 17 innings, is behind the plate catching starter Matt Moore.

— Center fielder Denard Span and shortstop Brandon Crawford are in, even though both recently came off the disabled list.
