Whirlwind All-Star trip flies by for A’s

CINCINNATI — A’s right-hander Sonny Gray pitched Sunday, so he didn’t get in the All-Star Game. He should get another chance if his talents, stats and aura are any indication.“The world should get to see him pitch,” said teammate Stephen Vogt, noting the A’s haven’t gotten much exposure this year.

The world also should see Vogt hit and appreciate his story of perseverance in which he rode minor-league buses for years in the Rays’ system before becoming an All-Star in his third season with the A’s.

Vogt struck out in the sixth inning Tuesday night but said of his All-Star experience, “It’s all gone by so fast like everyone said it would.
