Rather than kicking off a rebuild, the San Francisco Giants took an aggressive approach to the 2017-18 MLB offseason, acquiring former All-Stars Andrew McCutchen and Evan Longoria.
While McCutchen was just a rental, Longoria was a long-term investment under contract through the 2022 season.
Unfortunately, the 2018 season did not go as hoped, and Longoria was part of the problem with a disappointing .244/.281/.413 line and 16 home runs in 512 plate appearances
The 34-year-old quietly enjoyed a nice bounce-back season in 2019, though he was still not the same dynamic player we saw in his prime.
