NEW YORK — Not long after Andrew McCutchen arrived in New York after a late-season trade, he blasted an opposite-field home run to right field at Yankee Stadium.
That alone let him know he wasn’t at AT&T Park anymore.
“Knowing you can hit it out of here to the opposite field is good,” McCutchen said Tuesday on the eve of the Yankees’ wild-card playoff game against the A’s. “I’ve already hit one that way that would have been an out in San Francisco.”
McCutchen, expected to lead off and play left field on Wednesday, hit five home runs in 25 games with the Yankees.
