With the San Francisco Giants playoff odds disappearing faster than a popsicle on a summer day, Sunday’s series finale against the San Diego Padres felt less like a game the team was trying to win, and more like a celebration of beloved manager Bruce Bochy.
Which is good, because they did a bang-up job celebrating the skipper, and a rather crappy job of winning the game.
The organization brought in some of Bochy’s friends from his days with the Padres, as this marked his final game managing against his old team. Weird commentary about marriage notwithstanding, it was a good move.
