The San Francisco Giants made the mildest of trades on Friday, agreeing to trade Spencer Howard to the Cleveland Guardians — the team they were starting a series with — in exchange for cash considerations. Howard had already been designated for assignment, so losing him is not exactly news. But it was unclear whether he would go the way of Daulton Jefferies and Mitch White (traded for a small return) or the way of Raymond Burgos, Ryan McKenna, and Trenton Brooks (cleared waivers and outrighted to AAA Sacramento).
And now we know.
