Happy Wednesday, San Francisco Giants fans.
It’s the final day of the 2023 Winter Meetings, and the excitement that so many expected has not arrived; it probably won’t arrive today, either. So far the biggest signing at the meetings has been a two-year, $15 million deal for Erick Fedde. The biggest move was Alex Verdugo being traded to the New York Yankees. It’s not exactly the madness that people prepped for.
There’s still plenty to talk about on the free agency front, even as we patiently (or impatiently) wait for Shohei Ohtani and Yoshinobu Yamamoto to pick homes, so that the rest of the class of available players can, too.
