Wednesday BP: Giants still looking at starting pitchers

Hello and happy Wednesday. And happy inauguration day.

The San Francisco Giants have made some decent starting pitching moves this offseason, re-signing Kevin Gausman while adding Alex Wood and Anthony DeSclafani. Add that to Johnny Cueto, Logan Webb, and eventually Tyler Beede, and it might seem like they’ve got all the rotation depth they need.

But maybe not.

If you paid attention to Farhan Zaidi when he was with the Los Angeles Dodgers, you know that “too many starting pitchers” is not a thing he believes in, and six pitchers definitely doesn’t qualify for that label.
