Hello, and happy Wednesday.
On Tuesday, Miami Marlins manager Don Mattingly was named National League Manager of the Year, which feels deserving as long as you ignore the totally reckless coronavirus shenanigans from the beginning of the season, which was either on Thursday or 17 years ago.
The San Francisco Giants were represented, as Gabe Kapler finished in eighth place of the nine managers who received votes. He was the only manager in either the NL or AL who didn’t make the postseason but still received votes.
Kapler received three third place votes, and two of them came from local voters: Henry Schulman and Ann Killion, both of the San Francisco Chronicle.
