SAN FRANCISCO–The rain is pouring and for the first time in 12 years, AT&T Park is snoring.
With precipitation expected to continue throughout the afternoon and well into the night, the Giants didn’t waste much time postponing their series-opening contest with the Dodgers Friday. The franchise announced a rainout before noon, scheduling a split double-header for April 28 and pushing back the start of Saturday’s contest from 1:05 p.m. to 3:05 p.m.
The rainout is the first at AT&T Park since wet weather forced the Giants to call off consecutive mid-April contests against the Houston Astros all the way back in 2006.
