SAN JOSE — A near-capacity crowd filled San Jose Municipal Stadium as fans came in droves looking to get a glimpse of San Francisco Giants ace Madison Bumgarner.
The former World Series MVP made his second rehab start after having pitched in Sacramento on Friday. Sitting around 90-91 on his fastball for most of the night, Bumgarner turned in a clean first inning, but things soon went awry as he ended his night giving up four home runs in his four innings of work.
The fourth inning was what did Bumgarner in. He allowed three home runs in the inning, two to DJ Peters of Rancho Cucamonga, and eight hits total in the frame.
