The Los Angeles City Council voted unanimously Friday to rename the road which leads up to Dodgers Stdium, as "Vin Scully Avenue" in honor of the iconic broadcaster.
Scully, 88, is set to begin his 67th and final season this year where we will hear his legendary calls one last time.
Councilman Gail Cedillo made the motion to change Elysian Park Avenue and instead honor Scully. The vote was unanimous with 12 people in favor and none against the renaming.
"I am overwhelmed," Scully said. "I was raised in the streets of New York and to have a street named after me in Los Angeles is almost too much to comprehend.
