Two Giants manager candidates reportedly get 2nd interviews

The hunt to replace Bruce Bochy apparently has reached its finalist stage with two candidates reportedly getting second interviews with the Giants.

Citing an unnamed source, Craig Mish of Fantasy Sports Radio tweeted Monday that former Phillies manager Gabe Kapler is receiving a second interview for the manager opening. Kapler was fired after two seasons in Philadelphia in which the Phils failed to make the playoffs.

Kapler was the Dodgers' director of player development from 2014-2017, during which time Giants President of Baseball Operations Farhan Zaidi served as Los Angeles' general manager.

On Sunday, Houston Astros bench coach Joe Espada announced he has been called back to San Francisco for another interview after the World Series concludes, according to the Houston Chronicle's Chandler Rome.
