The San Francisco Giants had an off day on Monday, after returning home from a six-day road trip, and before embarking on a six-game homestand that will take them into the All-Star break.
They spent their off day doing the best thing they could have done: celebrating Willie Mays. The greatest baseball player of all time, Mays died on June 18 at the age of 93. All aspects of his unparalleled legacy were both on display and celebrated accordingly at Oracle Park on Monday.
Rather than reading words, I’ll let you listen to them. Enjoy.
