San Francisco Giant starting pitcher Trevor Cahill exited Saturday’s game against the Arizona Diamondbacks after experiencing pain in his left hip. The right-handed pitcher showed some discomfort after a pitch in the fourth inning, which led to a consultation on the mound with the Giants training staff.
He elected to stay in the game, and while he didn’t look to be in pain, he stopped pitching effectively. Just a few batters later, the training staff returned to the mound, and Cahill exited. The team later diagnosed it as left hip discomfort.
