ATLANTA - Kelby Tomlinson was the first Giant to find a spot on one of the leather couches surrounding the big-screen TV.
The Duffman Show was nearing on Wednesday, and Tomlinson got a good seat to watch Matt Duffy, his Double-A teammate last season, get interviewed on the MLB Network.
Tomlinson, who has been inspired by his buddy’s rapid rise to big-league prominence, did a nice Duffy imitation in his first start in the majors, collecting two hits and three RBIs in the Giants’ 6-1 victory over the Braves.
Like Duffy, Tomlinson is a long and lean infielder, and he followed Monday’s pinch single with run-scoring hits in his first two at-bats Wednesday before finally making an out.
