Good morning, baseball fans.
I know it’s been a difficult week for fans of not only the San Francisco Giants, but baseball fans across the world.
I’ve been struggling to be able to say anything that would do justice the life, career and person that was Willie Mays. Anything I’ve tried to say has felt woefully inadequate. The unfairness of losing him just days before he was to be honored today in his hometown, when the Giants play at the first field he called home, it just feels like cruel timing.
As Brady said much more eloquently, it is not a tragedy when a long life well-lived comes to an end.
