Alex Young’s second stint with the San Francisco Giants did not last long. The Giants acquired Young less than two weeks ago, when they traded veteran outfielder Austin Slater to the Cincinnati Reds for the left-handed pitcher, who had spent part of the 2022 season with San Francisco. Upon returning to the Giants, Young was immediately optioned to the Minor Leagues, where he appeared in two games with the AAA Sacramento River Cats.
But on Wednesday, it was announced that the Giants had placed Young on waivers, and that he had been claimed by the New York Mets.
