The Giants didn’t take home the World Series trophy this season, but three players came away with some postseason hardware.
Catcher Buster Posey, shortstop Brandon Crawford and second baseman Joe Panik were named National League Gold Glove winners on Tuesday afternoon, giving the Giants a major-league high for the award this season.
The winners were selected based on statistics and votes from team managers and coaches.
Posey becomes the first N.L. catcher to win a Gold Glove other than Yadier Molina of the St. Louis Cardinals since 2007, when Russell Martin of the Dodgers was the top-fielding catcher.
