The time is right for the Giants and A’s to end a 28-year trade drought

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz.–It’s been more than 28 years since the San Francisco Giants and Oakland A’s executed a player-for-player trade.

The drought –which executives working for both franchises are keenly aware of– shouldn’t last much longer.

The A’s have already begun their regular season while the Giants are exactly one week from squaring off with the Padres on the stateside version of Opening Day. Soon, the two sides will meet in the Bay Area for three games where decision-makers will have one last opportunity to evaluate their personnel in exhibition games.

Neither front office needs more time to be reminded of what their respective clubs are missing.
