It’s a bit of an overgeneralization, but the San Francisco Giants’ season has effectively happened in two parts.
When the Giants were leaning hard on their veterans — who were either struggling or uninspiring — they floundered through the first six weeks of the season and through the early parts of June.
But when injuries forced the Giants to lean on their prospects, like they did in May and like they are having to do now, the kids have helped the Giants turn things around and tread water in the hilariously bad NL Wild Card race.
